In seven years a special group of children and families has raised more than $140,000 for the WHAS Crusade for Children. How you ask?
For the seventh time, the presses at Publishers Press in Shepherdsville are rolling out the latest edition of the Crusade Baby Calendar.
Tim Nalley, Production Supervisor at Publishers said, “Once the files have been ok’d through our customers, the files are uploaded to our CCP area which is our computer to printing area, the files are sent down to the actual press console.”
As with everything involving the Crusade, the Crusade Baby Calendar is a team effort. Scott Stortz of Titan Design Solutions creates the files used to print the calendar in Publishers commerical division.
Dee Petzold of Publishers Press said, “It’s a pleasure for Publishers. We really enjoy being able to contribute to this charity and it’s very worthwhile.”
In the first seven years the Crusade Baby Calendar has featured more than 160 children and raised more than $140,000.
Dawn Lee, CEO of the WHAS Crusade for Children said, “Realistically what that means to the Crusade is that a child like Christian Pendrones gets the help he needs to overcome his premature birth. And the children over at the Shawnee Boys and Girls Club get a place to go for tutoring after school. These are two examples of how the generosity of the this community helps to fulfill the Crusade’s mission to help children with special needs.”
The Crusade Baby Calendar is available for $10 at area Kroger stores and at the Crusade office (520 W. Chestnut Street).
